Chiara Lungarotti

The Awareness

“In my family we always talked about our land. I like it, I've grown up with it and today I think I've grown up into an agricultural entrepreneur, a farmer, that knows and can feel the smell and taste of the land .”

A woman who conquered the traditionally-male top of the wine-making sector with charm and resolve. She’s the CEO of a company she inherited from her father, she produces top quality wines with an unfettered passion. Fully aware of the deep relationship between her brand and her land of origin, her labels are not just commercial products but rather tales of history and culture of their land of origin.

Chiara Lungarotti raised with the love for her land she breathed in ever since she was a child, in the mid-90s she graduated in Agricultural Science at the Perugia University with a dissertation on viticulture followed by several specialization courses in Bordeaux.
She joined the family company very early and directed the several group businesses in the fluid, hectic Italian and global entrepreneurial activity with courage and intelligence.
Her qualifications, resolve and passion quickly led her to bring about leading-edge technological and procedural innovations and changes both on the field (wine-growing) and in the cellar (wine-making). In tune with her creed of Preserve, Continue, Expand, today the Sole Director of Cantine Giorgio Lungarotti pays special attention in keeping a balance between respecting traditions and experimenting innovative techniques and development models.
Deeply in love with the countryside and all that surrounds it, she admits she knows the taste and the scent of the land. In addition to loving her job, she pursues several activities in the field of culture, where she makes important choices with the same competence and passion, believing in the key role the culture of wine and olive oil have in the development of the economy, history and art, both in Umbria and in Italy as a whole.
In addition to other things she today is the National President of the Tourism Movement, member of the Board of Federvini  and Member of the Board of the Fondazione Perugia Musica Classica. Last but not least, she’s the mother of Giovanni.
In our industry, you just can’t set a day to stop and sum up what you’ve done. Evolution is a continuous process.
